About AHP

I started this journey collecting a certain cat brand’s polishes before 2020. When I learned I could make my own polishes in 2024, I fell in love with the creation side of things. My shop opened April 2025 and mixing polish has given me a creative joy I’ve never experienced.

My process starts with brainstorming recipes based on my stock of cosmetic grade pigments, shimmers, and solvent-resistant glitter (my nail base is 21-free*, vegan, and cruelty-free). Then I hand-mix the polishes in small batches, bottle them up, and send them to my amazing swatchers for photos, then to my wonderful customers in the US and Canada.

What’s behind the name? Angry, because making polish is one way I distill my anger at the state of the world into a lovely product that brings joy to myself and others. Harpy, because I love mythology. As I age, I increasingly identify with the ancient harpy monsters of old. Harpies were often portrayed as monstrous, aging women with the bodies of birds, and to me they represent the power that belongs to people who live outside of societal norms. I wanted to choose a name that resonates with my feistier, rebellious nature and hopefully appeals to others as well. I plan to use my seller’s platform to make a difference in the world, donating to causes I care about. My first official charity collection will be launched September 2025 and is just the start.

*What does 21-free mean? My nail polishes are vegan and free from these potentially harmful ingredients: animal products, toluene, benzene, xylene, formaldehyde releaser, formaldehyde resin, phtalates, and more (cyclic silicones, camphor, MEK, glycol ethers of series E, HQ, MEHQ, TPP, nonylphenol ethoxylated, Tert-Butyl hydroperoxyde, chromium oxide greens, bismuth oxychloride, CMR, synthetic fragrance, ethyl tosylamide.)
