About Us

Hi, I’m Jo, a full-time mom and artist from Washington State. I started this journey getting addicted to indie nail polishes in 2024. When I learned I could make my own polishes after buying a DRK Nails kit, I became obsessed.

My process begins with brainstorming recipes based on my stock of cosmetic grade pigments, shimmers, and solvent-resistant glitter (my nail base is 21-free*, vegan, and cruelty-free). Then I hand-mix the polishes in small batches, bottle them up, and send them for photos.

As for the name - I love mythology and the harpies of myth are amongst my favorite! They are “monsters” with a woman’s head and upper body and the lower body of a bird. For me, they embody the historical fear of powerful, independent, aging women who aren’t afraid to go against the grain of society. Pretty badass!
